Q. What was the inspiration behind starting Remi TV, and who is it for?

Remi TV is a television show created to uplift and amplify underrepresented voices. It is dedicated to business owners, entrepreneurs, artists, and everyday people whose stories often go unheard.

The inspiration behind starting Remi TV came from a deep realization that there are so many talented, passionate individuals—especially from underprivileged communities—who are doing incredible things but aren’t given a platform to be seen or heard. I wanted to change that by creating a space where their voices matter and their stories can inspire others.

Q. Out of the many celebrities you’ve interviewed, which story was your favorite to spotlight?

One of my favorite stories to spotlight was my interview with R&B singer Mýa. Our one-on-one conversation was not only meaningful professionally but also personally impactful. At the time, I was dealing with thyroid issues, and Mýa shared valuable advice and wellness tips that truly helped me on my healing journey. Her kindness, knowledge, and authenticity made the experience unforgettable—she’s truly one of the best.

Q. What does it mean to you to be a Black woman in media?

Being a Black woman in media means everything to me. It’s an honor to be a source of representation, especially in Rhode Island, where there are only a handful of us in this space. I carry that responsibility with pride and purpose. My goal is to inspire young women—especially those who feel unseen—to pursue their dreams fearlessly, no matter the obstacles. Representation matters, and I want to be a reminder that they belong in every room.

Q. What are some of the marketing and media techniques you’ve used to bring awareness and visibility to your brand?

In the beginning, my growth was driven primarily by word of mouth and the support of close friends who helped spread the word about Remi TV. Their encouragement and belief in my vision played a huge role in building initial momentum. While that grassroots approach was powerful, I’ll admit—I’m now at the point where I need to implement more structured marketing strategies to continue expanding the brand's reach. It’s definitely something I’m focusing on moving forward!

Q. What’s your superpower?

My superpower is setting boundaries. I'm incredibly proud of myself for embracing this, especially because I used to be a people pleaser. For a long time, I allowed others to take advantage of my kindness, which had a negative impact on my well-being. Learning to say no and prioritize my peace has been transformational—and it’s a strength I’ve worked hard to develop.

Q. When you hear the words ‘Women Empowerment,’ what comes to mind?

When I hear "women empowerment," I think of giving women their flowers while they can still smell them—celebrating and honoring them in real time. I think of grace and empathy, especially in a world that can often be unkind. Most importantly, I think of being a strong support system—uplifting one another, creating safe spaces, and reminding women that they are seen, valued, and powerful.

Q. Are you currently working on any upcoming projects?

Yes, I’m currently working on the Remi TV Influencer Awards, an exciting event dedicated to celebrating unsung heroes across New England. The show will take place on April 19 at the Providence Performing Arts Center, and will feature live performances by Carl Thomas and 702.

What makes this event even more meaningful is that proceeds from ticket sales will go toward workforce development programs, helping to create opportunities and provide resources for those in need. It’s a celebration with a purpose, and I’m proud to bring it to life.

Q. What advice can you give to aspiring entrepreneurs and creatives who are interested in building a career in media?

My advice is this: don’t let others project their fears onto you. People may not always understand your vision, and that’s okay. Stay focused, stay true to yourself, and never give up—even when the journey gets tough. Anything is possible with perseverance and belief in your purpose. Keep going. You’ve got this.
